Former Mount Union QB Kurt Rocco Leads Cleveland Gladiators to AFL East Division Title

CLEVELAND -- Former Mount Union quarterback Kurt Rocco (Cincinnati/Roger Bacon) matched his career-high with eight touchdown passes to lead the Cleveland Gladiators to the Arena Football League East Division title with a 67-55 win over the Pittsburgh Power at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Rocco, who assumed the starting job in week two when John Dutton was lost for the season with an injury, went 25-of-35 for 297 yards and his eight TD's were the most since tossing eight against the Chicago Rush in his first career start in week three of the season.

On the season, Rocco has thrown for over 3,700 yards and 68 touchdown passes on the season. In his one season as a starter at Mount Union in 2009 he earned All-American honors leading the Purple Raiders to a 14-1 record, an Ohio Athltic Conference title and an appearance in the Stagg Bowl (national championship game).

Cleveland (10-7, 6-5) hosts Utah next week in the regular season finale and its win tonight clinches a home playoff game.
