Division 1 Regional Champion and State Final Four team in 2011 Sylvania Northview travelled to Avon Lake and battled the Shoregals to 1-1 tie.  

The Ladykats led off the scoring midway through the first half when Sophomore Leah Arnsby booted in a teammate's deflected shot.  That goal stood up through the rest of the half as Northview maintained a 1-0 lead at the break.  

The Ladykats controlled the game throughout the second half, but with 1:45 remaining
Avon Lake Freshman Catie Corrigan sent a long pass up the right side of the field to Senior Claire Jones who dribbled by a Northview defender and then sent a shot into the upper left corner of
the Ladykat net to earn the draw.  

The Avon Lake goalkeeping duties were shared by Senior Abby Rogers with 4 saves and Junior Amy Crooks with 3 saves.  In goal for the Ladykats was Freshman Kathleen
Duwve who recorded one save.

In JV action, Avon Lake prevailed 3-2.

St. Joe's shuts out Lake Ridge; Niki Mikolcic, 

Catherine Carey each score two goals

The Joseph Academy Jaguars shutout the Lake Ridge Academy Lions 8-0.  Scoring for the Jaguars were:  Niki Mikolcic (2), Catherine Carey (2), Lauren Brooks, Michelle Costanzo, Jackie Harter and Nicole Rave.  Moria McGuire had an assist.  Chelsea Hirzel recorded the shutout in goal with two saves.

The Junior Varsity shutout the Vermilion Sailors 7-0.  Grace Reinhold and Allie Hippler recorded hat tricks (three goals each) and Clare Sonby scored one,  Assists were plentiful Megan Traine (2), Allie Hippler, Clare Sonby (2) and Jessica Runyon.  Beckey Tent recorded the shtout in goal with four saves.

On Monday the Jaguars play the Elyria Catholic Panthers at 5/7.

Amherst, Avon Lake tie, 1-1

In a matinee SWC match, the Shoremen scored a great goal when Alex
Strimbu beat two players and played a slotted pass to Mitch McManaman
who scored with 31 minutes left in the second half.  The Shoremen held
strong but the Comets took advantage of a penalty kick with one minute
to go as Cole Plumb finished it.
